Another post more ranting about my other blog. I'm running out of ideas at the moment, and I feel like Ive drug the warehouse out and need to leave this unnamed coastal town. But I have already set it up to where the main character is going to help teach the others dwelling in the warehouse to fight and take back the town. Ugh, well I think I can make it work a while loner. anyways, I'm not even sure if anyone knows about this blog, I should probably so some advertising on my main page. But anyways, another non undead related story.
Brian was sitting alone in his new apartment, not yet unpacked, tired from moving everything into the spacious two bedroom apartment on the newer end of town. He walks into the kitchen, opening the fridge and mulling over what to grab. After a good minute of two, he decided to grab a beer from the back. "A toast...to nobody in particular." As he walked into the living room, he heard his phone vibrating in one of the few pieces of furniture that had made it to the new home. Setting the beer on the floor, he picks up the phone and sees a new text message from an unknown number. "who the hell? Its like two in the morning." This may have sounded rational, but all of Brian's closest friends knew he was a night owl, so there was a good chance he knew who it was, despite the unknown number that came up. I heard you moved back in town, not that that surprises you. Hit me up if you feel like it. "Well, whoever it is, I'm about to text you back." After asking who this was, Brian hit send and tossed the phone on the cardboard box next to his chair and cracked open the beer. Some time and several beers later, his phone had begun to dance across the box and onto the floor. Who is this? Ouch. To think we were as close as we were and you cant remember this number? Now Brian was confused. He had kept the same number, despite moving all over the us thanks to his current job. And yet this number was unknown. Brian clicked away on the tiny keyboard until he was satisfied, then sent the message and put the phone back on the box.
About half an hour later, Brian's phone had gone off again. Now curious, he races for the phone and brings up the new message. Yeah, we had a bit of a falling out. We talked on and off after that, but soon we just stopped talking altogether. I missed you. "Possibly an ex of mine?" He muttered to nobody in particular. Typing away, he sends his response to the mystery person. Pocketing the phone, he sits back down and begins to think of who this could possibly be. Coming up blank after half an hour, he gives up thinking and begins to read his favorite book. But before he can get into it, the phone vibrates in his pocket, startling him in the process. Yeah, we were close. You seemed distant, I thought you could never go for someone like me. Our wires got mixed, and from then we stopped talking for a few months. The look on Brian's face was a look of confusion, he knew who it was, but the name eluded him. The memories came rushing in short clips. Typing at finger breaking speed, he confesses that he remembers what they did together, but cant for the life of him remember their name. After sending the message, Brian can hardly look at his book. This was going to eat at him until he knew who this was. An hour comes and goes, no response. Brian looks at the clock and sees it is nearly five o'clock in the morning. Still no answer, Brian heads to his bedroom, where a mattress and a blanket await him.
When he awoke, there was a message on his phone. racing to open the message he nearly dropped the phone. You were always were bad with names. You remember me though, so that's good :) Although he cant remember the name, Brian still cracks a smile, warm feelings for a person he cant remember still makes him lovesick. It had been some time since He was with someone else. Sure there were the short lived relationships here and there in each place he moved to, but nothing real. The thought of an old flame finding him had excited him. Loneliness was a terrible thing, turning the most bright and eccentric people into dull shells of their former selves. Typing away he sends the latest text to this mystery person. Time passes as he readies himself for work, another day another dollar. On his way to the car, the phone vibrates in his pocket. Sitting in the drivers seat he reads the newest text. Of course I'm not mad, a little miffed you cant remember my name, but you remember everything we did. Putting the phone in the cup holder, Brian drove away from his new apartment, and headed into the older section of town. Parking his car on the fourth floor of the garage, he gets out and puts on all the needed equipment for another day on the job. The usual, key cards, the name badge, and a few other work related equipment. As he entered the building his phone went off, too busy with making his way through the crowd gathered at the elevator to notice. Making his way to the elevator, he enters and pushes the last button and waits for the doors to slide shut. Reaching in his pocket he digs his phone out. We really should get together sometime :)
As the elevator pulled its way to the top floor, his phone began to vibrate. Looking towards the number lit up on the wall, Brian looks to his phone and reads the newest message. Id like that. "Looks like I have a date after work." Smiling as the doors opened, he calmly strolls out into the waiting area. "I'm here to see the V.P." He calmly states to the lady that works behind the desk. She types away at her keyboard, sorting through the schedule for the busy man I was to meet. "You wouldn't happen to be the lawyer he was wanting to speak to?" She looks me up and down before continuing. "You look like a lawyer, no doubt, come on in." She buzzes the door, and I walk in. Upon entering the office, Brian is greeted by a man with raven black hair and a rather expensive looking suit. Turning to him, he has peculiar look on his face. Calmly walking towards him, Brian pulls a sleek knife from his pocket and shoves it in his ribcage, right between his lungs. As quickly as the encounter happened, it was over, Wiping the blood from his blade, Brian calmly leaves the room, not before thanking the secretary. On his way down, his phone began to vibrate. Choosing to ignore it for now, he makes his way back to the car, only to change clothes before getting in and driving out. The life of a modern day assassin is difficult, but its one that pays well, he thought as he took the long way home. Upon coming home, he makes the usual connections, letting his superiors know the job was completed. As he relaxed, he remembered his admirer had sent him another text after the job had been finished.
It hurts that you didn't recognize me today. This sentence confused him. Did they work in the building he infiltrated. "No...." Recalling the V.P. office, he can clearly see the name tag Stuart on his desk. So many memories rushing forward at once. It made him sick. His last target would be someone he once loved. That was another lifetime ago. And soon, Brian would join him, as he concocted a lethal drink. Sitting in his favorite chair, he gulped down the drink as he listened to what would be his last song. A song that brought back happy memories of the two of them. As the acoustic guitar kicked in, Brian felt very sleepy. Maybe there was an afterlife, and just maybe he would get a chance to apologize to his old friend and once-lover, Stu...

A couple of things to say, followed by a short story
I decided to make a new blog to kind of keep updates on my other one. Id do it in my first one, but I hate breaking continuity. Its the longest story I have written so far. But a few things I would like to know/have no clue about.
1. After posting the sections up I see that certian sentences, or worst case scenario Whole freaking paragraphs come up missing. wth blogger?
2. My stories are posted most recent to first. Its like reading a book backwards and dont know how to fix it. Would like info on that.
3. While writing this ive had so many other ideas pop up, and instead of letting them go to waste. I know this dosent go with points one and two, but I figured since I made a second blog I could write other stories that dont really connect with my main one on here when they crop up. With that said I guess I could start with the story.
The cold breeze cuts to the bone, but Lucas pays it no mind. His short black hair rustles alongside the breeze, aside from that, you wouldn't be able to tell the wind had even affected him. He was here for a reason, and the cold wasn't about to stop him. Pulling his bag closer to him he steps into the shadows, instantaneously disappearing into the autumn night. He silently treads across the metal catwalk, making sure nobody below him heard as he headed to the main building. In front of him laid the largest technology firm in the world, scaling heights of one-hundred twenty five stories, the building its self was intimidating to many. But Lucas new better, the first ninety or so floor were merely offices and call centers. But what lie between the offices and the data storing servers on the top floors is another story. There was the control center for the whole company. The one place that couldn't be accessed by anyone without key cards and several other biological locks His freshly made key card would not only grant him access to almost anywhere in the building, but would fool the security grid the locks were attached to to mimic the cards of random employees currently in the building. A gift from the 'tech-goddes' as he called her. Smiling as he waved the key past the door, it silently unlocked and gave way as he slipped in, only noticed by the cameras. Immediately he veered to the right of the grand hallway of cement and fogged glass calling for the elevator to come his way. The doors closed right behind him, much to the dismay of the employee who had just missed the ride up. Now that the doors were closed, Lucas began the real planning.
Pulling out his laptop, his fingers flew across the tiny keyboard, accessing a file labeled redemption. Loading all the filed onto a flash drive, he shuts the laptop and returns it to his bag. Coming to a stop, Lucas had a moment of panic, reaching for the door shut button, he holds at as the elevator comes towards its next stop, but instead continues upward towards the ninetieth floor. Shedding his coat, he reaches for the roof of the tiny room, and makes his way to the top of the elevator. From there he waits, the files given to him by his latest employer, there should be a vent somewhere up ahead. For now it was a matter of finding it. The car below his feet shudders, the stops. "Shit, somebody is getting on" He hissed through gritted teeth as the doors below him slid open, and a trio of employees walked in. The elevator continues upward, their bland conversations going on below him. Thankfully for Lucas, the shaft he needed was only a few more floors ahead. Crouched, he waits to make the jump, one wrong move could end in disaster. About a few feet above him, Lucas jumps in and slides further in, making sure the rising elevator didn't snap him in two. About halfway through the vent, he heard an alarm blare. "There's no way I was caught!" He whispered as he stopped dead in his tracks. Listening closely, he heard the cold robotic female voice give him all the information he needed "Attention Dy-tek security, there has been a break in on the main floor, all available security to the main entrance." He smiled, fate had granted him a major distraction. "Time to get to work" He smiled as he found the entrance to the nerve center for the company, pulling out the hard drive from his pants pocket.
Silently he dropped into the control room, and headed for the keyboard connected to the main terminal. All he had to do was insert the drive and push a tiny button on the drive. Within seconds, the virus began to work, at first the lights flickered, followed by the robotic voice, now seriously distorted."All sec-c-c-c-curity to the maiiinnnn flo-" Now the voice had degraded into barely recognizable clicks and scratches. Heading back into the vent, he leaves the pin drive in the terminal. The virus not only wiped out the main system, but any evidence on the drive its self. should anyone try to extract any information, their computers would fry in an instant. Another gift from his tech goddess.making his way further into the ventilation system, he comes to what he was looking for. the main shaft. Ordinarily this would be impossible with a constant whirring of fan blades, now a inert mass of blades that now resembled an odd landscape. One that Lucas knew how to cross. Jumping nimbly from blade to blade, he slowly made his way to the bottom over the course of fifteen minutes. From there, he silently slipped out into the shadows as he had came. A real pro, worth every dime spent on me he thought as he made his way away from the techno-conglomerate. However, there was one thought that nagged at him as he walked the back streets of the downtown. However miraculous the distraction was, it seemed to be, coincidental. And in Lucas' business coincidence is never a good thing.
